Road safety guidelines
General guidelines
You are entirely responsible for following the traffic rules when driving scooters.
If the navigation app recommends a route that may result in a violation of a traffic rule, you must always follow traffic rules rules and not the app.
All fines resulting from traffic violations are not covered by Flink, and the total value will be taken from your payroll.
The scooter's license plate must always be visible. If it's obstructed, it can be subject to a fine, which will be the your entire responsibility to pay.
You must only ride the scooters in allowed zones (such as roads).
Parking etiquette
Always park the scooters in a convenient and appropriate location that is easily accessible and doesn't block the sidewalk or the street.
If you receive a parking fine, you are entirely responsible for its payment.
Traffic fines and accidents
If the police stops and gives you a fine for traffic or parking rules violations, you are solely responsible to handle and pay them.
You must always be mindful of traffic rules when using a scooter (or any other vehicle) from Flink.
If you have an accident while riding a scooter, you must follow the accident process:
How to report scooter damages
If you notice any damages to the scooter, you must immediately report them. If those damages jeopardize your safety while using the scooter, you must stop using it and store it in the Hub.
You must then go to your Hub Manager/Shift Lead and provide them with:
The vehicle ID.
A brief description of the problem they encountered.
FAQ
If I get fined for parking or traffic rules violations while using a scooter, will the fine be covered by Flink?
No. All fines due to incorrect parking or traffic rules violations will be deducted from your payroll at the end of the month.
Each Rider is responsible for following the traffic rules, regardless of what the routing app recommends, with no exceptions.
I got into an accident with a Flink scooter. Will Flink cover my medical expenses or costs for damages to my personal belongings?
The Rider’s work insurance will cover medical treatment and other costs for health measures incurred as a result of the accident at work. Other personal damage is not covered.
I lost the vehicle documents, what should I do?
You must communicate this immediately to your Hub Manager/Shift Lead. If the loss is your responsibility, disciplinary action may be taken.
There’s something broken on the scooter, what should I do?
See the dropdown How to report scooter damages.
Can I drive the scooter on the cycling lane?
No. It's forbidden in most cases to ride scooters on cycle lanes. If you are fined for this, the fine is entirely your responsibility to handle and pay.
Since the my colleague is using my scooter for their shift, can I just hand them over the keys?
No. See the dropdown Requirements for the key handover for more on this.
Can scooters use a single battery or do they always need the two batteries to be functional?
If necessary, a scooter can be used with just one battery. It's important to ensure that scooters always have at least one battery available to function during shifts. To ensure this, use a scooter with only one battery whilst the other recharges. Riders must be aware of the battery levels at all times.
