Picking Process

The picking process is the process of preparing orders to our customers. This works together with several tools, the most important one being the Picking Flow in the HubOne app.

Materials needed

  • Zebra with your Quinyx ID

  • Zebra holster

  • Picking cart

Instructions

  1. The customer orders and the order arrives on your Zebra Phone via HubOne App.

  2. Once the order arrives on the Zebra, it will ring and you will receive a notification. Click on "Start Picking" to accept the order.

  3. Before you start picking:

    1. Check the number of products and the weight of the order to estimate the number of bags needed.

    2. If your hub also works with other partners, check the supplier to select the correct bags.

  4. Take your Zebra and mount it on the picking cart and make sure it is attached properly.

  5. You will be taken to the picking flow.

  6. Check the shelf number where the item is located (in this example, it’s 007).

  7. Go to the shelf by following the numbers on the floor. Once at the shelf, determine the position of the product on the shelf, always thinking in this order:

    1. Shelf number;

    2. Shelf letter (in this example, it’s B);

    3. Product name;

    4. Matching image.

  8. Once you have the product you want, hold the product’s EAN barcode in front of the built-in scanner in the Zebra and scan the item.

    1. If it's the right product, a unit will be added to the HubOne app cart.

    2. If there are more units of the same product, pick the correct amount and tap the product on the screen until the total amount of products is added or scan the barcode the required number of times.

  9. The app will then automatically scroll down to the next product so you can repeat this process.

  10. If the scanned product is not the right one, you will hear a sound indicating that the barcode is not the right one and you will see the error message "Wrong product" at the bottom of the screen.

  11. If the product does not have a barcode, you can either tap it or press “wrong barcode” if tapping is unavailable.

  12. If you find that you selected and scanned the wrong amount of a product, click the "Reset" button to reset the quantity and re-enter the correct quantity.

  13. If a product needs restocking, click "Add for restocking".

  14. When all the items of the order are picked, click "Finish Picking" at the end of the list.

  15. Proceed to do the handover process to the Rider.

  16. Click the "Next Order" button to begin picking the next order or to return to the home screen.

  17. Fill up the picking cart with new bags.

  18. If no new order is ready to pick, take your Zebra off the picker cart and continue with other tasks in the hub.

Important:

Always check for the FIFO-Principle! Find out more about it here.

Picking a Click & Collect order

Ordering process for employees and customers

  1. Open the Flink website in your web browser.

  2. The first thing you will be asked for is your address, because it is always assumed that you want your order to be delivered to your home.

  3. The desired products are placed in the shopping cart as usual.

  4. When you go to the shopping cart, you can choose between "Delivery" and "Click & Collect".

  5. In the payment process, you have the option to type in your discount code.

Picking the order

  1. Click & Collect orders should only be picked when the customer is at the hub.

  2. Go to the picking tab in the HubOne app and press the icon on the top, right-hand corner.

  3. Scan the QR code of the order which is in the Order Dashboard in the HubPortal (available on the hub computer or TV screen).

4. Pick the order as described above.

5. Hand the bags directly to the customer.

Important information about Click & Collect

  • This process is also used when you have a problem during the picking process that forces you to leave the picking flow.

  • Currently, it is only possible to use it via the web browser. The implementation in the app is still to follow.

  • Orders will be cancelled 1 hour after payment if they have not been picked up.

  • The order process should only be started when the customer is on site.
