Flink Rescue Bag Flow

Process & Guidelines (DE)

This guide describes the end-to-end process for Flink Rescue bags in Germany. By offering variety and ensuring high quality, we maximise customer satisfaction while reducing food waste.

1. Outbound Criteria

Products suitable for Rescue bags must meet the following quality criteria:

  • Close to expiry: Products shortly before or on the last day of expiration. For bakery goods, items expired by one day (THT/BBD +1) are accepted.

  • Aesthetic defects: Fresh products that don’t look ideal but are still safe and tasty (identified during Fresh Checks).

  • Damaged packaging: Dry, slightly damaged packages where the product inside remains 100% sealed and safe.

  • Wrong deliveries: Hub alert tickets marked with the response "Give away".

🚫 NEVER INCLUDE: Products showing signs of rot/mould, products past BBD (except bakery), tobacco, or baby products.

2. Preparation Process (Builder V2)

New in Builder V2:

The system uses Smart Rules to ensure variety and quality:

  • Category Validation: Items from incorrect categories for a specific bag type are automatically blocked.

  • Variety Thresholds: Minimum unique SKUs required; "Too much of the same product" is blocked to ensure a "grocery basket" experience.

  • Value Protection: Bags must stay within the specific target value range (do not overstuff).

Step-by-Step:

  1. Outbound products in HubOne via the Rescue bag category.

  2. Use Bag Builder V2: Follow the Guidelines Pop-up. It ensures you don't add restricted items (e.g., no Vegan Meat in Meat bags).

  3. Variety Check: Aim for maximum variety. If you have many similar items, create specialized bags (e.g., Meat or F&V) instead of just Standard bags.

  4. Sticker the bags in an easy-to-scan place and store them on Shelf 2000X (or as per your Hub's layout).

4. Quality & Variety Goals

  1. Focus on Customer Satisfaction
High quality means repeat customers. Always prioritise variety over quantity of a single SKU.

  2. Strictly follow SKU Limits
Builder V2 prevents over-adding one item. This ensures a "grocery basket" experience, not 10 of the same item.

  3. Value Accuracy
Stay within the green zone of the value tracker. Do not significantly overstuff bags.
