🚨 Reminder: Rescue Bag Variety

We want our Rescue Bags (Rettettüte) to be a great experience for our customers, but we have received recent complaints about a lack of variety in the bags.

Customers are disappointed when they open a bag to find it filled with only one type of item (e.g., 5 bottles of the same sauce or just huge amounts of one vegetable).

Please follow these important principles when packing:

1. Think Like the Customer: Do Not Use too much of the same product.

  • The Goal: A "Rescue Bag" should feel like a lucky dip of groceries, not a stock clearance of a single item.

  • The Fix: Mix it up! A variety of items is much more valuable to the customer than bulk quantities of a single product.

2. Connect Products Where Possible When selecting items, try to create a logic behind the bag.

  • If you include pasta, is there a sauce or vegetable near expiration that goes with it?

  • If you are packing a Bakery Bag, try to offer a mix of bread loaves and pastries rather than just 10 of the same bun.

3. Quick Refresher: What Goes In? To ensure quality control, please stick to the standard "Do's and Don'ts":

  • āœ… DO Include:

    • Products shortly before or on the last day of expiration.

    • Fruits and vegetables that don't look ideal but are still consumable.

    • Damaged packages where the product inside is still safe.

    • Bakery Specific: Freshly made bread is okay up to 1 day after its BBD.

  • ā›”ļø DO NOT Include:

    • Too much of the same product (Stock correction is not the goal here!).

    • Fresh products showing signs of rot or mould.

    • Non-food items, Alcohol, Pet, or Baby products.

Let’s turn those complaints into compliments by packing bags we would be happy to receive ourselves! šŸ›ļø
