The precautionary safety of employees is within the responsibility of the Hub Managers. |
Injuries can easily occur during goods delivery and inbound operations. The following factors can play a role:
Size and weight of the containers (rollers, freezer trolleys, beverage pallets, etc.)
Defective or insufficiently secured containers (e.g., faulty rollers, etc.)
Difficult delivery conditions (e.g., delivery via a ramp, uneven terrain/cobblestones/unpaved ground, etc.)
Narrow entrances (doors, gates, etc.) or aisles/paths
Obstacles in transport routes
Unsafe/careless use of pallet trucks, steps, ladders, etc.
Overhead work during inbound operations
It is therefore urgent that employees be personally sensitized to the dangers! Instruct them in all necessary work procedures and pay attention to the following points to prevent accidents:
Check containers for possible damage/defects.
Large (tall) or heavy containers must be secured and moved by several people.
Wear safety overshoes when working with large and heavy containers.
(Provided in every hub, part of the personal safety equipment.)Safe use of pallet trucks, ladders, and steps.
Do not climb on shelves!
Keep all transport routes clear.
Secure each other during transport - risk of crushing in doors, corners, etc.
Also draws employees’ attention to the various operating instructions (available in the work safety folder), e.g.:
Working with pallet trucks (German & English)
Working with steps and ladders (German & English)
Workplace ergonomics (German & English)
Lifting and carrying loads (German & English)
Workplace order and cleanliness (German & English)
...
