Sick leave for Hub Managers

If you feel unable to perform your work due to sickness, please adhere to the following process
for reporting sick:

  • Step 1: inform your Area Manager

    • Reporting sick at least 1 hour before starting work.
If you feel unwell due to sickness before starting work and are unable to carry out your work, you are obliged to report this to the Area Manager responsible for you as soon as possible, but no later than one hour before the start of your shift or workday.

    • Reporting sick by telephone or Email.
Please call your Area Manager first to report sick. If he or she is not available by phone at short notice, please send your sick note to your Area Manager by e-mail. Please also send the e-mail as soon as possible, but no later than 1 hour before the start of the shift or work.

    • Ongoing sickness.
If you are sick for longer than initially reported and/or planned, please also inform your Area Manager immediately, but no later than one hour before the start of your shift or work, about the duration of your incapacity to work and its expected duration. It is essential for the proper organisation of the company that each Hub Manager informs his Area Manager as soon as he/she becomes aware of your (continued) incapacity for work.

  • Step 2: enter your sick leave request into Successfactors (SAP) latest on the second workday of your sickness.

    • First log in into Successfactors, then head to the home tab "Request time off".

    • From here, you will see the Sick Leave time type. Then enter the date.

    • And finally, submit the request

  • Step 3: update your slack status to state that you will be OOO, so fellow Flinkers know you won't be able to get back to them. If

After you have visited a doctor to get your sickness confirmed, please follow step 2 and enter your sickness in Successfactors. Your sick leave request must correspond to the dates specified by your doctor or on your sick note.

Please note that with the introduction of the eAU, most doctors will not hand out AUs in paper form anymore. Instead, we will use the absence data provided by you to request the electronic sick note from your insurance company.

In the exceptional case that you still receive a paper AU, please flag this under eAU exclusion reason when entering the absence in Successfactors.

You will then be required to attach your sick note directly on your time off request.

Important:

Please ensure that your insurance information in Successfactors is always up-to-date as this is a requirement for the eAU retrieval system.

If you do not enter your absence in Successfactors or we do not receive a valid sick note from you or your insurance, we will notify your manager who then can take disciplinary action.

Additional information for new starters

If you are unfortunately unwell within the first 28 days of your employment or longer than 6 weeks with the same sickness, your sick leave will not be paid by Flink but by your own health insurance provider. To be entitled to those payments, it is important that you always send the sick note (“Kopie für die Krankenkasse”) to your insurance company.
