[Go-Live] Introduction of the Thermometer Project đĄď¸âď¸
To reduce waste and increase availability during the summer months, thermometers will be installed in the hubs. When temperatures exceed 28 degrees Celsius, selected products such as chocolate will be moved to refrigerators to preserve their quality.
Installation of the Thermometer
A package will arrive this week. Please take the thermometer and the small plastic stand out of the packaging.
The thermometer is pre-configured. You do not need to open it to insert batteries.
Follow the steps in the Hub Guide. This guide is included in the package and will also be shared with you digitally.
All communication will take place via the Slack channel #alert-hub-temperature. Additionally, there will be office hours for any questions you may have about the installation (the exact time will be announced in the Slack channel).
How does the process work?
You do not need to read the thermometer yourself. In the event of high temperatures, you will receive a notification in the Slack channel.
The steps you need to follow will be provided in this notification. The procedure is also detailed in the Hub Guide.
Mainly, you will need to move temperature-sensitive products from the shelves to the backstock refrigerators or a refrigerator designated for this process.
You will receive a SKU priority list, indicating which SKUs need to be moved and where they should go. There will be mandatory SKUs that must have space, and optional SKUs for which you can provide feedback on whether there is available capacity.
You will receive a notification when temperatures are sufficiently low for an extended period. At that point, the process will be reversed, and we will return to normal storage conditions.
[Go-Live] New Shelf Space for Acrylic and Paper Items
For safety and efficiency reasons, we are relocating the acrylic boxes and paper products in the hub.
Acrylic Boxes
The new acrylic box area will be set up near the Shift Lead Desk and will consist of 4 shelf numbers (600 A-D).
Depending on the specific space available in your hub, set up your paper area with either (1) a new, narrow shelf or (2) an existing shelf at the Shift Lead Desk.
You can find here the setup for your hub in columns H-J.
If you receive a new, narrow shelf, it will be sent to you this week.
Print out the barcodes 600 A-D and attach them to the shelf spaces.
â Shelf change for all acrylic boxes next Tuesday, 04.06.
Paper Products
The new paper area will be set up at the end of the picking path and will consist of 8 shelf numbers (500 A-H).
Depending on the specific space available in your hub, set up your paper area with either (1) pallets, (2) backstock shelves, or (3) roll carts.
You can find the setup for your hub in columns D-F here
Print out the barcodes 500 A-H and attach them to the shelf spaces.
Refer to your Shelf Change Sheet to identify all paper items moving from the picking path to shelf 500 and place them accordingly.
Only one SKU will be assigned per shelf space.
â Today, Tuesday, 28.05, after the hub closes.
