Waste Disposal

It is about separating the garbage according to its type and placing it in the appropriate bins, so that the Hub is organized, odors and dirt are prevented, and the garbage collection runs smoothly.

Categories of garbage

There are four different categories of garbage:

  • Food waste;

  • Commercial waste;

  • Cardboard and paper;

  • Plastic packaging and foil.

Process

  1. Each location will receive a 1100L commercial garbage can and a 240L food waste garbage can at the launch.

  2. Waste garbage cans will be collected via arrangements with the waste collection service.

  3. Cardboard and foil should be taken by REWE during deliveries. If this does not happen, please escalate it to Ann-Kathrin Grugel ([email protected]).

  4. Trash cans should always be completely filled when disposing of the trash bags.

  5. Fold the boxes to save space.

  6. Close the bags with residual waste so that nothing leaks out.

  7. When possible, store the garbage cans outside.

  8. If this is not possible, they can also be stored indoors.

  9. Please also pay attention to the waste separation in the staff kitchen and break rooms. Here, waste should generally be separated according to the categories plastic/plastic, paper/cardboard and biological waste.

  10. If there are not enough trash cans for the separation of employee waste, they can be ordered through Coupa.

Important:

The garbage cans must be accessible for garbage collection at the supposed collection time. If the garbage cans are stored indoors, they must be moved out in time.

Important:

If there is still a high amount of trash in the Hubs, the following actions can be taken: if additional garbage cans and special pickups are needed, please create a ticket for the Property Management Team and request the garbage cans.
