Escape and rescue plan

This guide provides an overview of the escape and rescue plan, including a visual representation and answers to frequently asked questions. The escape and rescue plan is designed to communicate essential information about evacuation routes, rescue paths, and firefighting equipment in public and commercial buildings, using minimal text to ensure clarity and ease of understanding.

As a critical component of a facility’s safety equipment, the escape and rescue plan plays a key role in fire safety documentation. It helps Hub Managers, Shift Leads, and Ops Associate Plus personnel stay informed about the facility’s escape routes and supports the overall safety guidance system.

General guidelines

  1. Each hub receives an escape and rescue plan by mail, enclosed in an aluminum frame and equipped with hardware for hanging.

  2. Upon receiving the plan, the Hub Manager is responsible for promptly displaying it at the designated location, as indicated on the plan itself under Standort (Location).

  3. The Hub Manager must also ensure that all employees, including new ones, are informed about the plan and fully understand its contents, including the legend and symbols. This can be done through a review session or other appropriate means.

  4. The plans are provided in both German and English to accommodate all employees.

Important:

Escape routes and doors must be kept free and accessible at all times.
