Inbounding Bakery Products

This page is about how to effectively inbound bakery products, which usually need to be inbound before Flink’s online store opens (bakery products are bought the most in the morning). Fresh bakery products are delivered in the morning, sometimes even directly inside the hub.

Tips & Tricks

  • Fresh bakery products usually come in bakery crates, as shown in the picture below.

  • Fresh bakery products are inbounded in front of the bakery shelves.

  • While doing the list preparation, scan the items and immediately place them on the bakery shelves one by one. Once the crates are empty, click “Start Dropping” and inbound all products in a row.

Materials needed

  • Zebra with your Quinyx ID + holster.

  • Gloves.

  • Pen to double check the invoice.

  • Small wheeled platform, as shown in the picture. If you do not have one, request it via Coupa.

Instructions

Baked goods delivered in the morning by local bakeries should be promptly inbounded, as our customers tend to prefer fresh pastries in the morning.

  1. Mount the bakery crates on the wheeled platform and place it in front of the bakery shelves.

  2. Get your Zebra and the invoice.

  3. In the Zebra, go to the Inbound tab in HubOne app and click “Select a Delivery” > “Other delivery”.

  4. Scan the barcode and edit the number of units you have received.

  5. Double check the quantity you have received and the quantity in the invoice.

    1. If it does not match, please raise a HubAlert ticket (go to FAQ).

  6. Place the item in the corresponding shelf by taking into account the number of facings displayed in the app. If the app requires, for example, two Single unit facings, this means the products need to be placed in two rows.

  7. If the barcodes do not work:

    1. Click on the search bar and type in the supplier’s name.

    2. Select the corresponding product(s).

    3. Edit the number of single units you have received from that item.

    4. Place the item in the corresponding shelf.

  8. Repeat the process for all units in all crates.

  9. Once the crate is empty, click on “Verify list”.

    1. Make changes on the list, if necessary.

  10. Click on “Start dropping”.

  11. Click on all items on the list to automatically inbound them on the app.

  12. Once you have clicked on all items, click on “Finish dropping”.

Note: Outbound bakery products shortly before the shifts' end at night and prepare the boxes for Rescue Bags the following morning.

How to store bakery products on the shelves?

  • Never store boxes of unpackaged baked goods directly on the floor. This is to comply with food safety requirements.

  • In order to keep the shelves in order and facilitate picking, store bakery products in IFCO crates.

    • Since the products are covered by its package, we suggest printing pictures with the name as shown in the Zebra or in the label. Place the picture on the corresponding crate (see below).
