Storing and delivering frozen products

On this page you will find information about products that need to be stored frozen - that is, with a temperature between -18 and -21 degrees. For these products, it is especially important to pay attention to storage in the freezers and delivery in the thermal bags, as we need to keep the cold chain. The cold chain is the process of keeping that food item at a consistently low and controlled temperature from the point of inbounding through storage, picking and transportation until it reaches the consumer. The temperature must be within the range indicated above.

Instructions

How should the freezer be arranged?

  • Do not place different products on top of each other. Always ensure that everything is immediately recognizable during the picking process.

  • Use the grids in the freezers so that nothing is stored on the floor or touches the walls of the freezer.

  • Do not store anything above the red mark, as this can cause the products to thaw and no longer be suitable for sale.

What should be taken care of during delivery?

  • A thermobag (picture in FAQ) must ALWAYS be used to maintain the cold chain especially if the order is left waiting for a long period of time and stacking is used for longer trips.

  • While picking, place the frozen products directly into the thermobag and give it to the Rider.

    • These thermobags are to be brought back to the hub by the Rider.

Why is this process important?

Any break or deviation in the cold chain can lead to foodborne illness, spoilage and loss of product quality which in turn leads to losses and/or a bad customer experience.
