Conduction of KPI-based feedback conversation
Having a feedback conversation based on KPIs is crucial for aligning expectations, providing constructive criticism, and recognizing achievements. Here's a step-by-step guide to conducting such a conversation effectively.
1 | Start with your positive intent | Example: "I’d like to talk with you about the performance of the hub during your shifts last week. Lets learn from what went well and what could we further improve" |
2 | Discuss KPI Performance | Review the dashboard together and discuss performance against each KPI. Be specific. Highlight both successes and areas for improvement, and address the impact of these. |
3 | Align on improvement areas | Discuss the KPIs that need improvement and what actions can be taken to improve, offering specific, actionable feedback for improvement. |
4 | Set goals & action plans | Let the employee propose actions to improve (actions and behavior). Together set realistic goals for improvement; for next week. Ensure these goals are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) |
5 | Discuss support | Determine what support or resources are needed to help the individual on the defined goals |
6 | Agree follow up | Document agreed actions and agree to follow up next week |
7 | Close | Thank the individual for their contributions and for engaging in the feedback conversation. |
By following these steps, you can conduct feedback conversations based on KPIs in a way that fosters growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement to get 1% better everyday.
