Hub Managers in these cities will be responsible for implementing and managing this new OA hiring process effectively. Where most important part of the roll out is to be aware to execute expectation management. The applicant applied for OA, however after the onboarding shift it's the hub manager's responsibility to decide the role for the applicant.
Other cities should follow the regular process of hiring candidates.
Introduction
In addition to our regular hiring of candidates, we are excited to introduce a new hiring process only for Ops Associates (OA) that allows applicants to apply directly for the OA position. This process is designed to streamline the hiring of specialised Ops Associates, and it includes the following key components:
Hiring Process via EduME:
Applicants interested in joining as Ops Associates will now be able to apply for the position online. The automated model of Assessment Centres will be used.
Onboarding for Ops Associates:
Hub Managers will receive a list of applicants that were hired for the OA role. They will be responsible for providing them with OA-specific onboarding. This onboarding is crucial to ensure that new OA's are familiar with their roles and responsibilities.
Skill Assignment as Ops Associate:
Ops Associates will have to be assigned the skill "Ops Associates " on Quinyx.
Reason for the Change
The reason behind implementing this new hiring process is to address the hiring gap for Ops Associates. We recognise that the OA role is highly specialised, and to ensure that we hire the best candidates, we are introducing a trial shift as part of the process.
According to this model, the onboarding shift will be a trial shift for the applicant where their abilities as an OA will be assessed.
When an applicant is confirmed to be suitable for the Ops Associate position, you will have to assign them the relevant skill.
In the rare instance that an applicant lacks the skills required to perform as an OA, it is possible to move them to the Rider position and assign them the responsibilities of a rider.
Approving For Ops Associate Position
As Hub managers, it is your responsibility to ensure a balance between employee satisfaction and suitability for their role, maintaining a long-term working relationship. Once an applicant is confirmed for the OA position, they will have to be assigned the relevant skill in Quinyx as shown below:
Skill assignment in Quinyx:
In Quinyx, by default the applicant will have been assigned the skill of a "rider", this will have to be re-assigned and will reflect the change in their job responsibilities. The detailed skill re-assignment can be seen below:
Step1: Click on their profile
Step 2: On “People details” go to “Skills”
Step 3: Select “Ops Associate”
Step 4: Save
Effective Communication with the Candidate:
Whether the applicant has been approved for the ops associate position, or if they have been assigned the rider position, they will have to be communicated to clearly in the onboarding shift.
Explain the reasons for the decision clearly, emphasising that it's a decision based on their current skills and suitability.
Provide constructive feedback on areas where improvement is needed.
Offer support and guidance to help them succeed in their new Rider role
Ensure the candidate feels heard and has the opportunity to ask questions.
This communication is essential to maintain a positive working relationship with the individual. Remember that while the initial role might not be the right fit, there is potential for growth and development in the Rider role.
