Pension Scheme

This page is meant to help you with all the questions you have about the pension scheme put in process under Flink.

How is my pension with Flink 2 B.V. organised?

Where am I accruing my pension?

With ASR. From the age of 18, you will accrue a pension with ASR. For details, see: www.asr.nl/pensioen/doenpensioen (in Dutch).

What kind of pension scheme do I have with ASR? A premium scheme.

The amount of the invested premium is the starting point of the pension scheme. From 2027 at the latest, this premium scheme will become mandatory for everyone (Pensioenfonds Levensmiddelen will also have to apply this scheme).

The premium will go into your personal pension investment portfolio. Through these investments, the deposit will grow into a pension capital. This means that you do not yet know the amount you will receive from your pension. You will, however, be able to see a prediction based on your situation remaining unchanged, and also what will happen if the economy improves or worsens. You can keep constant track of the development of your investment portfolio. And the amount of pension you can expect to receive once you turn 68 years of age. This expected pension will fluctuate with the economy, but will become more certain the closer you get to retirement.

What is the premium with ASR and what is it used for? You contribute only to your own pension capital.

The premium paid by you is only for you. You do not need to contribute to the pensions of older participants. You accrue your own pension in your own pension pot. The amount deposited to your pension pot depends on your age. See the table below.

What is my personal contribution? This is 3%. And 2,75% if you are under 25 years of age.

Your personal contribution is a maximum of 3% of the pensionable pay. Pensionable pay is the part of salary on which you accrue pension. With ASR, this does not include bonuses and any irregular hours’ allowance.

With ASR, you start building up your pension from a full time salary of €16,322 per year. For part-timers, this is of course calculated on a pro-rata basis. For example: If you work 50%, you start building up your pension from a salary of €8,161 per year.

Other questions

What will happen with the pension I have already accrued with another pension fund?

In principle, this will remain with the other pension fund. The pension is probably less than €595 and will be automatically transferred over time to your new pension scheme. As long as the cover at the fund is 100% or higher. End of February 2023 this was 99,1%.

Because you will now be working at Flink 2 B.V., you will fall under a different organisation. This means you have the right to initiate the value transfer. You can transfer the pension you have accrued up with the other pension fund to ASR yourself. Once again, the fund must have a cover of 100% or higher.

Value transfer means that the agreed pension will be converted to a transfer value at a prescribed interest rate. You receive an offer for the transfer of this calculated value to ASR. Only after signing for agreement, the actual transfer will take place.

Is it possible to see how ASR invests the money?

Yes, most certainly. You will gain access to an online environment containing all the information. If you want to, you can choose how your money is invested. But you don’t have to. If you do not choose anything, you will be placed in the ‘neutral investment’ category. The description of this is: ‘You are balancing the probability that your pension investments will increase in value with the risk that they will decrease in value. You want to keep a good chance that your investments will increase in value as you accrue your pension. But you cannot or do not want to take too much risk that the value of your investments will be disappointing in the case of poor investment performance.

You can also choose to invest more offensively or defensively. Once you have access to the online portal of ASR pension you can find all the information needed for your choice.
