This is the official process of measuring the product temperatures during a Lekkerland delivery.
Process
When in doubt, Flink has the possibility to measure the products temperatures. To do so correctly, the following steps must be taken in cooperation with the Lekkerland driver.
The driver should give a temperature ticket before starting to unload. If this is not done, please ask for the ticket and when given check the temperatures. Still in doubt, tell the driver that temperature checks will be executed. This must be told to the driver before unloading.
The driver starts to unload the rolcontainers. When they are delivered inside the hub, the temperature measurements must be executed immediately.
The thermometer must be calibrated at all times and not longer than 1 year ago. The last calibration date must be visible on the back of the thermometer.
The calibration date will be documented by the driver.
If the thermometer is not calibrated, the driver will use his/her thermometer if possible. Otherwise the shipment must be accepted.
The Hub Manager or Shift Lead must measure the temperature, if possible, of a product with a dense constitution (yogurt, cheese). Choose items with minimal packaging for the best results.
The thermometer must be inserted in the product itself and meet the following temperature requirements:
Freezer products (Pizza/ice cream etc.): max -15°C. Must be done within 20 minutes of delivery.
Fridge products (milk, cheese etc.): >0°C till 7°C. Must be done within 20 minutes of delivery or kept in the walk-in fridge until they can be inbounded.
When the first measurements meet the above temperatures, the rolcontainers must be accepted. If the temperature does not meet the set requirements, a second measurement is required.
Take another product from the inner part of the rolcontainer and measure it together with the driver. A third measurement within the required range forces Flink to accept the shipment.
If not within the requirements, do not accept the products. The driver will tell the system that the rolcontainer(s) are not accepted. The containers, however, will stay in the hub.
After that, the hub must fill a ticket in the Hub Alert App > Delivery Issues > Temperature Issues. This is necessary for HQ to send out a credit request for the unsellable products.
The driver will call the distribution center to report the situation at hand.
Please note:
The driver must register all measured temperatures and they need to be shown on the proof of delivery document.
If the first measurement is within the required range, the driver will unload the products and the shipment must be accepted.
As said before, please measure directly when the RC enters the hub. It is of best interest that a RC is only declined when the completed procedure is executed in full in order to prevent discussions/arguments and to ensure availability and prevent unnecessary waste.
FAQ
Why is this process important?
It is of both Lekkerland and Flink’s best interest that every delivery is done in full and accepted by Flink without any issues. This prevents a lot of administration hassles and increases the availability in the hubs and prevents unnecessary waste. It can however be the case that the rolcontainers are not up to the set agreements. The following procedure is agreed upon with Lekkerland to ensure that rolcontainers are only declined when it is really necessary and to prevent arguments whether a rolcontainer is acceptable or not.
