Handover process

The handover process is the final stage that comes right after the picking process. This is the moment where the order is handed over to the Rider so they can deliver the order.

Process

  1. When an order comes in, follow the picking process to completion.

  2. Once you’re done, grab a container that matches the size of the order.

  3. There are in total 3 container sizes: a small thermobag (S) and a medium sized thermo bag (M). Use your judgment to choose the correct size for your order (though whenever possible, choose the small container to maximize the space on the bike). In addition, you have the big backpacks (L). These should ideally be used for bulky and light items (e.g. toilet/ kitchen paper, tissues etc.).
    Most bikes can take up to 4 S containers, but only 1 M or L container.

  4. For each size there is a different QR Code. The number on top of the QR Code shows the container’s size. For example, 1A means size S. The number below indicates the container’s id.

  5. After choosing the right size, scan the the QR code in the metal plate attached to the container by using the side button on the zebra.

    1. Make use of the easily detachable picker cart mount to take the Zebra off if the strap is not long enough.

    2. You will need to scan as many containers as the order requires. Remember, you should try to fit the order in an S container to save space on the bike. However, if the order is too big to fit in a single S container, you should use additional S containers and only use M or L as a last resort.

      If the scanning doesn't work, select Skip scanning and proceed with the next steps.

  1. Place the bags in the container and move it to the shelf.

  2. Click on Next step.

  3. Scan the shelf space you are using or enter it manually.
    ​

  4. Put the container on the correct shelf.

  5. Click Finish picking.

For the Riders

  1. The Rider will receive a notification to pick up the accurate containers on the Workforce App. On their app, they will be able to check the different orders, shelf numbers and containers.

  2. Find the accurate shelf number shown on the app, pick up the right container by checking the number of both the shelf and the container and click on it.

    1. Keep in mind that each shelf space can have more than one container, and an order can include containers from more than one shelf space.

    2. If the order is stacked, the sliding button will take you to the next order. Repeat the process.

  3. Confirm it by sliding on “Slide to Confirm”.

  4. The Rider is now ready to deliver the order.

Note: The size S containers should fit in the saddle bags and the size M containers only fit in the box.

FAQ

Why is it important?

  • It is extremely important that the picked order gets dispatched quickly, efficiently, and correctly.

  • When the handover process is disregarded the stacking algorithm cannot work properly and you may have orders standing around for a long time.

    • This could break the cold chain, if there are cooled products in the order.

    • This will negatively impact Average Delivery Time.

    • It could negatively impact the NPS.

    • It will lead to higher issue rates.
