🪪 Ensuring Safe & Compliant Alcohol Deliveries

At Flink, we take our responsibility to the community and the law seriously. To remain fully compliant with the Dutch Alcohol Law, it is essential that every rider follows the correct age verification procedures for every delivery containing alcohol.

Government focus on age verification is increasing, and staying compliant is the only way we can continue to offer alcohol and liquor deliveries in the future.

Key Requirements for Every Delivery

  • Zero Tolerance for Minors: Alcohol can never be delivered to anyone under the age of 18.

  • Mandatory ID Check: You must verify the customer's age using a valid ID (Passport, ID card, or Driver’s License).

  • App Verification: You must enter the customer’s date of birth into the app for validation.

  • The "Return" Rule: If a customer cannot provide a valid ID or if their age cannot be verified, you must bring the alcoholic products back to the hub. These will be refunded via Customer Service.

Why This Matters

Non-compliance doesn't just put the delivery at risk; it has serious consequences for the entire hub staff and management. Following these steps helps us:

  1. Comply with Dutch regulations.

  2. Reduce the risk of heavy legal penalties.

  3. Protect our license to deliver alcohol in the future.

šŸ‘‰ Take Action: Ensure all riders have completed the dedicated EduMe guide available in the training section of the WF app.

šŸ“– For further details on the protocol, please refer to the Hub Wiki

āš ļø All Hub Managers (in cluster groups) have been invited to a meeting by Ozan Batuman on 14.1.26 to disscus further. Please ensure you attend!

Let’s work together to keep our deliveries safe and legal! šŸš€

šŸ‘‰ Elevate Your Leadership: The Flink Soft Skills Course

While technical expertise ensures the job gets done, it’s soft skills that determine how well the team performs under pressure. To support your growth as leaders, we are reminding all Hub Managers and Shift Leads to complete the Flink Soft Skills Edume Course.

Why Soft Skills Matter

Technical knowledge is the foundation of our daily tasks, but soft skills are the engine of a high-performing Hub. They empower you to:

  • Lead with Impact: Move beyond supervising to truly inspiring your team.

  • Problem-Solve: Navigate interpersonal challenges and operational hurdles with ease.

  • Adapt: Stay agile in the face of the ever-changing demands of our industry.

What You’ll Gain from the Course

The Edume module is designed to give you a clear roadmap for leadership excellence:

  1. Master the Flink Soft Skills: Deep-dive into the specific core competencies that define our culture.

  2. Define High Performance: Understand exactly what "excellence" looks like for each skill—both for your own professional development and for every member of your team.

  3. Actionable Management: Learn practical strategies to support and coach your team so they can embody these skills every day.

The Goal: To move from a "productive" work environment to a "positive and high-energy" one where everyone thrives.

šŸ›  How to Access

šŸ‘„ Trust Persons: Reminder/Update

Flink values a respectful and supportive work environment and strives to create a space where you feel safe and heard. You can read all about our trust person process and policy and meet our trust persons here at Zendesk.

The trust person provides independent, confidential support to employees who face undesirable behaviour or integrity issues at work. Their role is to listen, advise, and guide you through possible next steps.

The trust person:

  • Is impartial and acts independently.

  • Keeps your information strictly confidential, unless there is a serious risk of harm.

  • Supports you but does not replace People, managers, or formal complaint procedures. He/she cannot solve the problem for you personally, but is there to listen. Unless you are open to taking the next steps.

You can reach out to a trust person for cases of undesirable behaviour and integrity concerns, including:

  • Discrimination – being excluded or treated unfairly based on gender, ethnicity, age, religion, disability, etc.

  • Bullying – repeated negative behaviour, intimidation, or humiliation.

  • Aggression – verbal abuse, threats, or physical intimidation.

  • Conflict of interest – situations where professional judgment may be compromised.

  • Abuse of position – misuse of authority or resources for personal gain.

  • (Sexual) harassment – unwanted jokes, touching, or inappropriate remarks.

A trust person is not the right contact for:

  • Regular work disagreements, scheduling conflicts, or performance discussions

  • Questions about salary, holidays, or People policies (discuss this with your manager or reach out to the rider care team).

  • Anonymous complaints without willingness to discuss or reflect.

šŸ’ Understanding Our Metrics: A Guide to SCM Fill Rates

To ensure full transparency regarding performance evaluations, the SCM team has put together a quick breakdown of the three Fill Rates we monitor. Understanding these differences helps clarify how your performance is measured and incentivised.

  • Cleaned Fill Rate (The "Incentive" Rate)

    • Frequency: Shared every Monday.

    • Purpose: This is the official metric used for performance incentives. It excludes supplier-related issues and suppliers without DESADV to provide a fair assessment of controllable performance.

  • Daily Delivery Report

    • Frequency: Updated daily.

    • Purpose: A general snapshot of "Expected vs. Inbounded" quantities from the previous day. Because this includes supplier errors, the figure may appear lower than your final performance rating.

  • IC Fill Rate (Live Tracker)

    • Frequency: Updates every 30 minutes.

Purpose: Use this for real-time tracking throughout the day. Please note that this may vary from weekly stats, as it excludes items awaiting "Deviation Checks" and specific supplier categories.
