Flink Rider: Onboarding Process

A successful onboarding process is essential to ensure that new Riders are well-prepared for their responsibilities and feel welcomed into the team from day one. Below is a structured overview of the onboarding journey.

1. Before Your First Day

  • Contract Signing
    You will officially sign your employment contract with Flink.

  • Welcome Email
    Once your contract is signed, you’ll receive a welcome email with important information and next steps.

2. Onboarding Components

Your onboarding will include two key parts:

  • An In-person Onboarding Shift at your assigned hub.

  • Online onboarding training via EduMe

    • You'll receive all necessary access details at the hub if not provided earlier.

3. Onboarding Day Structure

  • Welcome & Introduction
    Your day begins with a warm welcome and an introduction to your team and Flink’s company culture.

  • Rider Role Training
    You’ll receive detailed training on your responsibilities, standard procedures, and expectations.

  • Hub Safety Training
    Learn key safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment in the hub.

  • Food Safety Training
    Training on hygiene practices and food safety regulations relevant to your role.

  • Rider Buddy Assignment
    You’ll be paired with an experienced Rider Buddy for hands-on training and support.

  • First Deliveries
    Together with your Buddy, you’ll complete your first deliveries and learn:

    • How to manage the handover from Picker to Rider

    • Best practices for delivering orders to customers

  • Operational Training by Hub Manager or Ops Associate+
    You’ll be guided through essential operational tasks, including:

    • Clocking in and out

    • Submitting your availability for scheduling


4. Next Steps

Once you’ve completed all onboarding steps, you’ll be ready to begin your regular shifts as a Flink RIder.
