Pre-Ride Check

Before you hit the road, your bike needs to be ready too. A loose chain, flat tire or broken brake can cause an accident in seconds — especially in rain or at night.

This is what every rider should check before riding out:

✅ The 4-Point Safety Check

1. Tires

  • Feel them with your hand — they should be firm, not soft

  • Look for damage: cracks, cuts, or wear

  • Why it matters: A flat tire can throw off your balance or slide in corners

2. Brakes

  • Squeeze front and rear brakes → do they engage immediately?

  • Listen: any strange squeaking or scraping?

  • Why it matters: Bad brakes = longer stopping time, especially in wet conditions

3. Saddle

  • Is the seat secure? Give it a shake — it shouldn’t wobble

  • Is it at the right height for full control while riding?

  • Why it matters: A loose or misaligned saddle affects your posture and braking response

4. Chain

  • Does it run smoothly? Not rusty, loose or dry?

  • Quick spin test: spin the pedals and listen for clean movement

  • Why it matters: A broken chain mid-ride = full stop (or worse)

🕒 Takes Less Than a Minute

You don’t need tools. Just use your hands, ears, and eyes.
If something feels off, don’t risk it — report the issue before riding.

💡 Think of it like brushing your teeth — quick habit, long-term protection.
