What is Flink's sickleave policy?

If you're feeling unwell and need to call in sick, here's how our sick leave policy works, so you know what to expect:

✅ When Will I Get Paid?

  1. If you haven't been sick in the past 6 months
→ You're paid from your first sick day – no unpaid waiting days.

  2. If you have been sick in the last 6 months, we check:

Is this sickness within 28 days of your last sick day?
→ Yes? Then it's a continuation and you're paid from day 1 (as long as the previous waiting days were already used).
→ No? Then it's a new sick period and 2 unpaid waiting days apply before paid sick leave starts.

🕒 What Are Waiting Days?

  • If you’ve had a previous sick leave in the last 6 months, and this is a new sick period (not a continuation), you’ll have to go through 2 unpaid waiting days.

  • These are not taken off consecutively – we track them across new sick periods.

  • After 2 unpaid waiting days are used, the rest of your sick days in that 6-month period will be paid from day 1 (unless there’s a new 6-month cycle).

📞 When You Call In Sick

Please inform your manager and HR:

  • The first day you're calling in sick

  • If it's possibly related to a recent illness

  • If you've been sick recently (within the past 6 months)

This helps us ensure your sick leave is handled correctly and fairly.
