Hub Newsletter - Week 8, 2022

Hi, 👋

Spring is just a month away! We hope you’re looking forward to the season change and what’s to come.

Below are updates on the E-commerce CLA change, requesting leaves of absence, the launch of the tipping feature as well as a small request from us: ideas on community events you’d like to see in the future.

Flink becomes member of E-Commerce Nederland employer union

At Flink our employees are the biggest asset we have and we are incredibly proud of our diverse and growing team across the Netherlands. Therefore we join the employer organization E-commerce Nederland. The E-Commerce CLA aligns on fair employment conditions especially for the e-commerce industry. This way we as an e-commerce industry guarantee also in the future that all parties competing in this sector do this on the basis of innovation and not on working conditions of their employees.

In general:

❇️ It has great attention for safety on the road and in the hub

❇️ It has a clear career path

❇️ There is more focus on your development

❇️ It is specifically designed for our type of jobs and our employee pool

For your job function specifically:

❇️ As a current store employee you will be placed at the grade which applies to your role as rider and picker: this is Grade A.1 in the E-commerce CLA.

❇️ You are awarded a one-time bonus in May of 1%

❇️ You receive a one-time transition bonus payment of €300 gross paid out in July as explained in the CLA information letter.

❇️ After 1 year you will have the option to move to a fixed hours contract.

❇️ Under the CLA E-commerce CLA Flink will introduce a flexible bonus scheme which will be awarded based on management discretion: the bonus for the period of 28 Feb 2022 - 27 March 2022 is defined as follows:

Reminder: How to Take Leaves of Absence

As a reminder, there are three ways you can take leaves of absence: vacation days, sick leave and when you’re unavailable in your schedule.

🏖 For requesting vacation: your vacation days are paid and are awarded to you for each hour you worked. Please note that we're busy with getting this visible in Quinyx. You can find more information on the Help Center here.

😷 For sick leave: if you’re sick, please inform us by adding a sickness in Quinyx as soon as you’re aware you cannot work.

Please note: punches without any shifts scheduled will not be paid. If called in on an emergency, covering a shift or starting a shift later than the planned time, you must request for your Hub Manager to add or update your shift.

Community Events: Share Your Ideas 💡

What kind of community events would you like to experience in the future? From workshops to meetups, we’d love to know what kind of events – big or small – you’d find valuable.

If you have an idea, please share them using our form here. We’ll take your ideas on board and look into how we could implement them and when. Thanks in advance!

Update: Tipping Feature

As of next week, the tipping feature will be live and you’ll be able to see your entire tipping history directly in the Rider App.

You can get a closer look at how the feature will look like in this video here.

Important information you need to know regarding income tax on tips:

  • At the moment, we’ll be transferring tips untaxed. This does not mean that tips are untaxed.

  • You must report to the tax authorities yourself on how much you received in tips (in cash as well as via in-app tipping,) when you file your income tax returns. Failure to do so can result in a serious fine from the tax authorities. Please make sure you pay close attention to this!

  • It is possible that the tax authorities will demand that Flink withhold tax on tips on your behalf. Should the tax authorities demand this, we will let you know.
