General fire prevention measures
Prevent fires:

Attempt to extinguish minor fires:
Use the fire extinguisher
It must be ensured that enough fire extinguishers are available and that these as well as the escape routes are kept clear at all times. The fire door must not be wedged and must be kept closed.
To prevent fires, all movable electrical equipment (e.g., kettle, coffee maker, microwave, small standing oven) in the employee kitchen must be placed only on fireproof surfaces.
All broken cables, defective electrical devices, and overloaded sockets must be reported immediately in order to actively prevent fires.
Sufficient fire safety assistants must be appointed and trained in each hub. Find out more about the instructions for registering for fire safety assistant training here.
Fire protection regulations part A and the escape and rescue plan must be posted in the hub. The fire protection regulations parts A and B must also be filed in the occupational safety folder.
Battery Cabinet
Charging bicycle batteries is a fire hazard. Therefore, you must charge them in the fireproof charging cabinets provided for this purpose to avoid any potential risks.
The guidelines to charge the batteries are:
Always keep the cabinet doors closed.
Do not stack batteries on top of each other or too close to each other.
Please take all charging cables in the cabinet off the power every Saturday evening (without exception).
Always follow the manual for the charging closet, which is available in the Hub.
The self-closing doors of the cabinets must not be wedged with any object. This will cause the cabinet doors to tear out of the body, preventing the cabinet from closing in the event of a fire.
Make sure that the cabinet doors are not blocked by any objects.
Defective batteries are only stored in the cabinet! It is best not to cover or stack them in the lower compartment.
Mark defective batteries (preferably with a clearly visible sticker).
Lithium-ion batteries must be located either in the bikes or in the battery charging cabinet.
No batteries may be charged or stored outside the safety cabinet.
If the cabinet is not yet available in a new location, batteries must never be left unattended while charging, especially at night.
If your battery cabinet is damaged, report it under Submit a request > Repair request > Battery charging cabinets.
If one of your bike's batteries is damaged, report it under Submit a request > Fleet issue/missing bike > Problem with batteries, power adapters, locks or keys and leave it in the dedicated space for broken batteries.
Use of multiple socket strips
No refrigerators, freezers, over-the-counter cabinets or battery charging cabinets may be connected to extension strips in the hub. Therefore, please make sure that these devices are connected to one socket individually or at most in pairs. Only one refrigerator can be connected to each extension cable.
Therefore, check in your hubs how the refrigerators are connected:
If there are enough sockets that would require a few additional multiple socket strips, order them in Coupa with the length of 2m (in exceptions: 3m).
If there are not enough sockets, please post a ticket in "Repair requests" in the Hub Wiki so that an additional installation can be organized.

Why is it important?
Your safety is the number one priority!
Every employer is obliged to take all necessary measures to protect its employees at work (§3 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act). For fire protection, this means planning, taking and monitoring measures that are required in particular in the event of fires occurring.
The employer needs the support of every employee in this, not only in the Hub and Headquarters, but also from all visitors to both locations. It is important to always be at work in an alert state and to be able to act correctly in case of any abnormal event, smells or noises so that personal injuries are prevented.
