šŸ“¦ Order Stacking Update

If you’ve spotted some unusual or illogical-looking order stacks in the hubs lately, it isn't a glitch; we’re actively testing a new automated stacking system.

āš ļø Please do NOT manually unstack these orders to "fix" them. Letting them run as-is is the only way we can accurately evaluate the test.

Why the change?

Our old system focused strictly on the fastest average fulfilment time. The new system changes the goal: it balances efficiency with ensuring orders meet their Promised Delivery Time. If a stack looks weird, it’s just the system getting creative to prevent delays based on current staffing and volume. We’ll share a full deep dive into the mechanics later in Q2.

Heads up on larger stacks: Starting yesterday (May 4th), the new system began building larger stacks (more orders per stack). Keep an eye out and let us know if anything looks off, but remember, no unstacking!

We need your feedback!

Your on-the-ground observations are crucial. To keep our main channels clear, please join and drop your reports in:

Thanks for your patience and for helping us test the future of our stacking system!

🄚 Freshness Campaign: Eggs

Fruit/Veg Product of the Week: Eggs

Screenshot 2026-05-04 at 12.52.08.png

Okay, so they aren't exactly fruits or vegetables... BUT they are one of our biggest sellers and easily the most fragile item we deliver.

Our customers put a lot of trust in us to deliver their groceries safely and soundly. Because eggs are currently among the most frequently damaged items in our orders, let's dive into how we can handle them properly and deliver the best possible quality to our customers!

The OAs guide

During Inbound/Check:

  • Spot the leaks: Always check for any sticky leakage or broken eggs that may have happened during transit. If you spot any, make sure to mark them as damaged via the app so they don't end up on the shelves.

During Picking:

  • The quick peek: Always open the egg carton and give it a quick visual scan to ensure there are no hidden breakages before packing.

  • Keep them on top: Never place egg cartons under heavy products!

  • Keep them flat: Do not pack egg boxes sideways. This drastically increases the likelihood that they will crack during the ride.

  • Secure the box: For smaller boxes (like the 6-packs), you can slide them into a paper fruit & veg bag to prevent the lid from popping open. Alternatively, you can use a small piece of tape to keep the box shut (shoutout to the hubs already doing this!).

During Handover:

  • Pass with care: Riders should always handle handed-over bags carefully. A good rule of thumb is to assume all orders contain fragile items like eggs.

Remember: If we can consistently and successfully deliver our most fragile products, we build incredible trust with our customers, and happier customers mean more orders! Let’s get cracking! (Or not as the case is!) šŸ³

šŸš› Transport Equipment: Go Live - Thursday 7th May (9am)

We’re rolling out a new feature to help us keep better track of our transport equipment.

Currently, equipment tracking is only done by Lekkerland drivers, and hub staff just have to agree with their count. The problem? When equipment isn't returned, Flink is charged for the financial loss. Because we haven't had a centralised digital paper trail, our Supply Chain team hasn't been able to effectively contest these supplier invoices.

The Solution To fix this and protect our bottom line, we are moving equipment tracking directly into the HubOne delivery check-in flow. Going forward, it is mandatory that all received and returned equipment is logged in the app.

Here is a quick overview of the new two-step process:

Step 1: The Pre-Count

  • To prepare for the delivery, count the equipment you plan to return before Lekkerland arrives (e.g. the evening before or in a quiet moment).

  • Having these counts ready ahead of time prevents delays and keeps the Hub clear.

  • Go to the Activities page, tap ā€œPrepare equipment,ā€ and tap to add the count for each listed item.

  • Once you finish, your completed count will show up in the activities tab.

Step 2: During Delivery

  • When the delivery arrives, you will have to register the equipment you are receiving and returning with the driver.

  • Start the Delivery Check-In as you normally would via the Activities tab.

  • After you confirm all of your scanned rollies, you will be taken to the transport equipment count screen.

  • Simply enter the quantity of equipment you just received, and confirm (or adjust) the pre-filled return data that was carried over from your pre-count.
