🍅 [Reminder] Freshness First: Refresher Edume Guide

We are two weeks into our Freshness & Outbound Refresher, and while we’ve seen some movement, we still have a long way to go. We are currently sitting at 19% completion..

Our customers choose Flink because they expect the highest quality. As part of our ongoing Freshness Campaign, it is vital that every member of the team is trained to deliver on that promise. Let’s ensure our staff has the knowledge to prove why Flink is the best choice in the business!

  • Big Shout Out: A massive well done to VOO_CENT, the first hub to hit 100% completion! Thank you for leading the way.

  • The Challenge: Currently, 16 hubs are still sitting at 0%. Let’s get those numbers moving this week!

Action Items for Hub leadership

👉 Ensure all OAs complete the guide: Direct them to: WF App -> Trainings -> Freshness First, or have them search for the initial launch email.

👉Track your Hub’s progress: Check your specific completion rates at this link. Simply filter for the Freshness Refresher Course to identify which team members still need to finish.

Why it matters: Freshness isn't just a metric; it's our brand. High completion rates lead to happier customers and fewer write-offs. Let's get to 100%!

🥑Fruit/Veg of the Week: Avocados

We are continuing our weekly quality spotlight to ensure our customers receive only the best produce. This week, we are focusing on Avocados

Unlike citrus or hardy veg, avocados are high-maintenance. They can look perfect on the outside while being bruised or overripe on the inside. Since they are a premium item, a quick, professional check is the difference between a great guacamole and a customer complaint!

How to Quality Check Like a Pro

The Gentle Pressure Test: Don't squeeze with your fingertips (this causes bruising!). Instead, place the avocado in the palm of your hand and squeeze gently. It should give slightly but not feel "mushy."

Identify External Damage: Look for "prodding" marks or very dark, sunken spots on the skin. These are signs of internal bruising that will be disappointing for the customer when they open it.

✅ Top Quality

Under-ripe avocados are okay(green), but try to sell these after 1-2 days.

Firm not too soft, smooth, slightly wrinkled.

Sell it!

⚠️ "Rescue" Level

Little spots and losing firmness

Outbound via Rescue Bag.

❌ Outbound Perished

Dented, bruised and too soft

Outbound via Perished

The OAs guide

We are seeing too many early outbounds. To stop this, the quality check must start the moment the stock arrives:

During Inbound:

  1. Check the THT Date: Check the dates on the incoming pallet immediately.

  2. The Physical Inspection: Don’t just look at the boxes; physically inspect the fruit as it comes off the truck. If the batch is already soft, bruised, or damaged, it shouldn't be accepted as "good" stock.

  3. Outbound During Delivery: If the quality isn't right, outbound them during the delivery process. This allows us to claim the loss from the supplier so the Hub doesn't take the financial hit later!

During the Fresh check:

  1. The "Squish" Test: Gently press the fruit in the palm of your hand. If it feels like a deflated balloon or your finger sinks in easily, it is past its prime. These should be removed from the shelf and moved to a Rescue Bag immediately.

  2. Watch for "Pitting": Look for small, dark, sunken spots on the skin. This is often a sign of cold damage. These avocados will likely be bitter or stringy inside, don't let them reach the customer!

During Picking:

  1. The Tray Rotation: Don't just grab the one on top! Give the avocado a quick 360-degree spin in your hand. Because they sit in trays, moisture can sometimes trap white fuzzy mould on the side touching the plastic.

📢 [Reminder] Share your Feedback on the Late-Night Cancellation Updates

Recently, we introduced an additional step for cancelling late-night orders due to "insufficient staffing." For certain orders, you will now see a prompt asking you to double-check the cancellation before hitting confirm. This was designed to help us reduce avoidable cancellations and ensure we provide the best possible experience for our customers during the final hours of the shift.

How is it working for you?

Now that the feature has been live for a short while, we want to know how it feels on the ground. Is it clear? Is it helpful? Is it slowing you down?

We need your honest feedback to help us fine-tune this feature and make sure it works for you, not against you.

It only takes a few moments to complete, but your input is essential to helping us improve our hub tools. Thanks for helping us get it right!

🧠 HOM Quiz Q1: We Need Your Voice!

We are currently running the Q1 Hub Operating Model (HOM) Quiz, and the results are starting to trickle in. However, we have a way to go to reach our target!

We are currently at 30% completion. This is your last chance to be involved. For the Hub manager, please ensure that your entire leadership has completed!

By participating, you directly influence:

  • Targeted Training: We won’t waste your time with training you already know; we’ll build better resources for the "grey areas" we identify.

  • Better Support: Your honest answers ensure every leader gets the tools and knowledge needed to run a successful hub.

The Details

  • Who: All Hub Leadership (OA+, SLs, and HMs).

  • Where to find it: Open your WF App -> Trainings section. Alternatively, search your email inbox with the link that was sent in March.

  • Time: The assessment consists of 15–20 quick questions.

  • Honesty is Key: It is 100% anonymous. We need the real picture of our current operations to make real changes.

Let’s Bridge the Gap: We saw a solid baseline score in Q4. Let’s see how much we’ve grown and where we still need to climb. Your participation is the most important step in building a more informed and efficient team!

🍆🍅🍓 Fruit & Veg Leaflet This Week

This week's Fruits and Vegetables leaflet highlights a sharp decline in berry quality and availability due to cold weather and plant fatigue, alongside persistent tomato shortages and aubergine quality issues from aging crops. See more here Week 17.

Key updates you can't miss

📲 Picking Update: Order Summary Screen when scanning order via QR code - GoLive Wednesday

We are releasing a new HubOne Picking Update:

  • When you scan an order via QR code, you will now see the order summary instead of starting right away as before.

  • In the Picking Start Screen, you will now see the current order state. This helps you determine whether the order has already been picked or is being picked.

The possible order states are:

  • Pending: Order is Ready to Pick - if it has never been picked

  • In Progress: Order has been started but not finished (could be that picking was abandoned or that it is currently being picked by someone else)

  • Completed: Picking has been started and completed

🚴 [Reminder] Extending Shifts at the End of a Rider's Schedule

As a reminder: following our update from a few months ago, during low PDT periods, any rider is automatically punched out at the end of their shift.

If you find yourself with a high volume of open orders and want to keep a rider on, you can extend their shift manually in Quinyx - here's how:

  • If you catch it before the shift ends: Extend the shift in Quinyx, and the rider will remain punched in and can continue delivering straight away.

  • If the shift has already ended: Extend the shift in Quinyx anyway, then have the rider punch back into the same shift (you might need to wait up to 5 minutes).

We hope this helps keep things running smoothly during busy periods! If you run into any issues, don't hesitate to reach out to #tech_hub_service-nl for support.

Shelf Changes & De-listings

Shelf change – moving F&V to fridge:

Today, in your shelf change file (Hubs 3.0), you may notice some F&V items being moved to the fridge shelf. This is done to ensure these products are stored at an optimal temperature. At the same time, some products will be moved out, as they do not require storage at such low temperatures.

Shelf Changes

The shelf changes will be posted at 15:00 today and will go live tonight. Please move products to their new locations after closure or tomorrow morning. Don't forget the back stock!

If you do not find your hub's file in the folders, it means there are no shelf changes for you this week.
