🫑 Freshness First: Campaign Update

Our Freshness Campaign has been live and running since last week - so here’s the weekly update to make sure Freshness stays top of mind for all of us:

1. This week’s focus product 🫑

13123231 Paprika mix 500g (23 quality issues last week)

13123168 Paprika rood 1st

‼️ Almost 70% of issues (77 cases divided over 38 hubs) in the last 4 weeks one of these products had a fresh check in the morning but still had a perished issue later that day.

Please make sure you:

👉🏽 Check your entire stock of bellpeppers to ensure freshness

👉🏽 Take special care in doing the checks in the morning

👉🏽 Ask your pickers to have a last eyes on the product and do a final quick check when packing them

What to watch out for:

  • Good for sale if it is firm, not too soft

  • Outbound as Rescue Bag if only one of three has bad quality, or if they are too small

  • Outbound perished if it is soft, has skin defects, pressure spots or mold rot

Here are some negative examples of paprikas which lead to post-order issues:

2. Freshness Refresher Training Completion

Last week, we launched a new EduMe Guide for all OAs to refresh their knowledge about freshness. Completion so far remains low with 6%.

👉🏽 Please ensure all your OAs complete the guide: Go to WF App -> Trainings -> Freshness First, or find last week’s WF Newsletter in their email.

👉🏽 Track completion for your hub here. Simply filter for the Freshness Refresher Course, and see which employees haven’t done it yet.

3. Reminder: Ensure freshness throughout all processes

To earn our customers’ trust and prevent them from churning, every step of our operation, from inbound, checks, picking & packing to the final delivery, must be flawless.

  1. Strict Inbound Checks: Catch quality issues the moment they arrive at the hub (Outbound during Inbound via HubOne)

  2. Proper Storage: Ensure F&V are stored correctly (e.g. Bananas in crates)

  3. Daily Fresh Checks: Perform these accurately and carefully every single day

  4. Pick with Purpose: Always inspect item quality during the picking process to reduce perished items reaching the customer.

  5. Use Fruit Paper Bags: Loose fruit stays safe in transport and arrives in better condition for the customer, making them feel we handled their order with care.

👉 Make sure you have the Fresh Check Guides printed hanging in the hub - everyone should know it!
