📰 In This Week's Issue:
🧠 HOM Quiz Q1: Help Us Build a Stronger Foundation!
The next iteration of the HOM (Hub Operating Model) Quiz is launching this week, and we need your expert insight to help us grow.
As we saw from our first assessment in Q4 2025, our Hub Leadership team, including OA+, SLs, and HMs, holds a solid baseline knowledge score of 64%. While we saw fantastic results in areas like Hub Safety, the data also highlighted clear "areas of improvement" in newer processes and systems.
Why are we doing this?
This isn’t a performance test. It is a vital tool for us to understand where our training and communication might be falling short. By identifying these gaps, we can:
Target Training: Develop better resources for the areas you find most challenging.
Simplify Processes: Improve how we roll out new updates to make them easier to retain.
Support Growth: Ensure every leader has the tools and knowledge needed to run a successful hub.
What you need to know:
It’s Anonymous: Please be honest! We want to see the real picture of our current operations.
Quick & Easy: The assessment consists of 15-20 questions via Edume.
Our Big Goal: Last time, we reached 41% completion. This quarter, we are aiming for 80% completion across all hubs to ensure our data truly represents our teams' needs!
Keep an eye on your inbox later this week for the direct link. Your participation is the most important step in helping us build a more informed, efficient, and supported leadership team.
Let’s bridge the gaps together!
📢 We Want Your Feedback: Late-Night Cancellation Updates
Recently, we introduced a new step for cancelling late-night orders due to "insufficient staffing." As a reminder, for certain orders, you will now see a prompt asking you to double-check the cancellation before hitting confirm. This was designed to help us reduce avoidable cancellations and ensure we provide the best possible experience for our customers during the final hours of the shift.
How is it working for you?
Now that the feature has been live for a short while, we want to know how it feels on the ground. Is it clear? Is it helpful? Is it slowing you down?
We need your honest feedback to help us fine-tune this feature and make sure it works for you, not against you.
It only takes a few moments to complete, but your input is essential to helping us improve our hub tools. Thanks for helping us get it right!
🔌 Property Update: Extension Cords
Recently, we have noticed an increase in unsafe situations across our hubs related to extension cords ⚠️. In some cases, cords have even burned out, creating serious risks and leading to temporary hub closures.
To prevent this from moving into the summer, please check the following in your hub:
❌ Do not connect extension cords to other extension cords
🧊 Use max. 3 fridges/freezers per extension cord
🔌 Make sure no household-grade extension cords are used for heavy equipment
To help us get a clear overview of hubs that need help, we’ve created a short Google Form 📋
👉 Please take a moment to complete it here
If you notice any of the above issues, please report it immediately.
Thanks for helping keep our hubs safe 🙌
🍊 Fruit/Veg of the Week: Mandarins/Clementines
We are continuing our weekly quality spotlight to ensure our customers receive only the best produce. This week, we are focusing on Mandarins/Clementines.
While citrus has a thicker skin than berries, they are prone to "hidden" mould at the bottom of the pack and dehydration. A quick check prevents a disappointed customer!
How to Quality Check Like a Pro
During your fresh checks, don't just look at the top layer. Mandarins are often packed tightly, which traps moisture and creates a breeding ground for blue or white mould.
Status | What to Look For | Action |
|
✅ Top Quality | Firm, orange colour, citrus smell, possible to have some green in it | Ship it!
⚠️ "Rescue" Level | Slightly soft, "puffy" skin (feels hollow), or minor skin scarring. | Pick it out. Sell the rest via Rescue Bags
❌ Outbound Perished | White/green fuzzy mould, "weeping" juice, or fermented (vinegar) smell. | Do not ship. |
The OAs guide
During the Fresh Check:
The "Squish" Test: Gently press the fruit. If it feels like a deflated balloon or your finger sinks in, it’s past its prime and belongs in a Rescue Bag.
Check for "Pitting": Look for dark, sunken spots on the peel. This is a sign of cold damage and means the fruit will taste bitter
During Picking:
The Bottom Flip: Rotate the net or punnet. Check the fruit at the very bottom for white fuzzy mould; this is where it starts 90% of the time..

🥝🫑🍓Fruit & Veg Leaflet This Week.
This week's Fruit & Vegetables leaflet highlights quality concerns for kiwi and red peppers due to shriveling and mold, alongside forecasted shortages for strawberries and cauliflowers. See more here Week 14.
🚀 Coming Next Week: The Flink Freshness Campaign!
Team, get ready! Starting Monday (CW 15), we are launching a major nationwide campaign centred on our Freshness Guarantee.
Marketing is telling the world that we have the best produce in the game; now it’s up to us to prove it. When a customer orders a mandarin or a pack of berries, they are trusting us to be their eyes. Let’s make sure they never feel the need to go to a physical supermarket again.
The Goal: Tackle the "Top 10"
Recent data shows that just 10 items drive 35% of all our fresh complaints. If we master these specific products, we win the campaign.
The "Sensitives": Mandarins & Tomatoes (Check for hidden rot!)
The "Fragiles": Strawberries & Raspberries (Watch for "weeping" and mold.)
The "Volume Kings": Bananas (Our #1 seller must be perfect.)
How We Win
To make this campaign a success, we are levelling up our hub operations:
Strict Inbound Checks: Catch the issues at the door. If it’s not 10/10 quality when it arrives, report it via HubOne immediately.
The "Last Eyes" Rule: Pickers, you are the final line of defence. Perform the 3-second flip on every item before it hits the bag.
Proper Storage: Keep those bananas in crates and citrus away from moisture.
Daily Fresh Checks: No exceptions. Every SKU listed, every morning.

👉 Shelf Changes: Update
In conjunction with a large promotion for SKU 134953026 (Ben & Jerry’s Sandwich 120ml), you may notice some frozen product reshuffling in your file to accommodate the extra space needed for this event.
Shelf Changes
The shelf changes will be posted at 15:00 today and will go live tonight. Please move products to their new locations after closure or tomorrow morning. Don't forget the back stock!
If you do not find your hub's file in the folders, it means there are no shelf changes for you this week.
