🧠 Lead the Way: Mastering the Team Lead Training Portal
To run a successful Hub, our leaders need more than just experience; they need the right tools and knowledge. Currently, our overall training completion stands at 23%. While we have 117 talented individuals nominated for OA+, only 10 have reached 100% completion.
A large percentage of our future leaders haven't yet started their core modules. While specialised training like BHV is vital, its not the only essential foundation of leadership.
Hubs Overall Completion:
Some hubs have shown a real dedication to training and knowledge sharing, resulting in a high percentage of nominees with strong completion rates. Conversely, many other hubs are struggling with low overall engagement and poor nominee completion.

Bottom Hubs:
Why Completion Matters
To lead with confidence and set the gold standard for our OAs and Riders, every Leader and Hub Manager must be proficient in:
Health & Safety: Ensuring a secure environment for everyone.
Labour Law & Compliance: Protecting our people and the business.
KPIs: Understanding the metrics that drive our success.
Basic OA Training: You cannot manage a process you haven’t mastered yourself.
A Foundation for Succession
Training is the backbone of succession planning. By insisting that your new leadership members complete their modules, you are building a strong foundation for a smooth-running Hub. When your team is fully trained, they can run shifts with confidence, allowing the Hub to operate effectively even when you aren't on the floor.
Setting the Example
It starts at the top. We’ve noticed that many Hub Managers haven't engaged with the portal recently. To expect excellence from your team, you must model it. Being able to answer questions on-site without reaching out to HQ doesn't just save time, it builds your authority and credibility.
The Goal: We want our Hub Managers, SLs, and OA+ candidates to be the most knowledgeable people on the floor.

📈 Restock Tip of the Week: The "Zero-Miss" Gameplan
Does your team struggle with a high percentage of missed restocks? Keeping the shelves full is the engine that drives our picking speed and customer satisfaction.
This week, we are sharing a proven Restocking Gameplan developed by Dimitrios Nikas (Hub Manager, Rotterdam West & Zuid). By following these five pillars, his hubs went from struggling to restocking in just two weeks!
The 5 Pillars of Restock Success
The "Zero List" Target: Don't let the restock list grow into a mountain. Aim to clear the restocking list continuously throughout the day. Small, frequent trips are faster than one massive haul.
The Single Point of Responsibility: If everyone is responsible, no one is. Always assign one specific person to own the restocking list at any given time. They ensure the flow never stops.
The "Power Hour" Buffer: A restock list of above 10 items is only acceptable during peak picking hours. This is the only window where "missed restock events" should occur. Once the rush settles, the list must drop back to zero immediately.
Live Stock Checks: Prevention is better than a restock event! Encourage pickers to do quick "visual stock checks" while picking. If they notice an item is lower than the system says, they flag it immediately to avoid a future missed restock event.
The 100% Clean Sheet Handover: The Night Shift must always hand over a 100% clean restocking sheet to the Morning Shift. Starting the day with empty shelves is a recipe for failure; starting with a full hub sets the team up for a "Green" day.
Pro-Tip: Consistency is key. Implement these rules for 7 days straight, and you’ll see your "Missed Restock" percentage plummet! 🚀
🍅 Fruit/Veg of the Week: The Tomato Check
We are continuing our weekly quality spotlight to ensure our customers receive only the best produce. This week, we are focusing on Tomatoes (Vine, Cherry, and Roma).
While tomatoes are heartier than berries, they are prone to bruising and hidden spoilage at the stem. A quick check prevents a disappointed customer!
How to Quality Check Like a Pro
During your fresh checks, don't just look at the top layer. Feel for firmness and inspect the vines.
Status | What to Look For | Action |
|
✅ Top Quality | Round, healthy, and firm. Fresh-looking green stems. | Ship it!
⚠️ "Rescue" Level | One bad or squishy tomato in the bunch? | Pick it out. Sell the rest via Rescue Bags.
❌ Outbound Perished | Visible mold, frost damage (watery spots), or "too yellow/pale." | Do not ship. |
The Picker’s "Last Eyes" Rule
The picker is our final line of defence. Before you place that pack into a customer’s bag, perform this 3-second quality flip:
Check the Stems: If the green vine is shrivelled, dry, or has white mould growing on it, the shelf life is over.
The "Squish" Test: Gently check for soft spots. If your finger leaves a dent or the skin is wrinkled, it belongs in a Rescue Bag.
Look for Leaks: Check the bottom of the container for any sticky residue or "weeping" fruit.

🛍️ More Variety, More Value: New Bag Types

📲 Say Hello to Rescue Bag Builder V2
To make building these bags easier and more consistent, we are launching Rescue Bag Builder V2 in HubOne. This update introduces "Smart Rules" to automate quality control and prevent common customer complaints.
Key Quality Features:
Guidelines Pop Up: When you start to create a new bag, a guideline pop-up with all the relevant details will show. This can be accessed again at any time by pressing the (i) icon at the top of the screen
Category Validation: The system now automatically blocks incompatible items (like household products in a bakery bag), ensuring customers get what they paid for.
Variety Thresholds (SKU Min/Max): To prevent bags from having too much of just one item, the builder now requires a minimum number of unique SKUs and sets a maximum quantity per item.
Value Protection: Every bag must now stay within a specific minimum and maximum value range to ensure fairness and satisfaction.
👉 Detailed Slide deck can be found: Here
🍅 Our Quality Promise
The goal isn't just to fill a bag; it's to provide a high-quality surprise. When building your bags, remember:
Ensure Variety: Always aim for as many different products as possible. If you have enough for 5 regular bags, consider making 1 Meat bag, 1 Fruit & Veg bag, and 1 XL bag instead to offer more choice.
Check the Condition: Only include items that are slightly damaged or nearing expiration but are still perfectly safe and pleasant to consume. Never include products with signs of rot or mould.
Follow the Pop-Up: When you start a bag in Builder V2, a guidelines pop-up will show you the exact requirements for that type, use it as your checklist!.
By focusing on these new standards, we move away from generic bags and toward specific, high-quality offerings that our customers will love.
Happy Bag Building! 🛍️✨
🥖 Bread Update: Longer Shelf Life & FIFO
Starting Friday, March 27th, we are updating our bread handling. Due to longer THT (shelf life) dates, we are moving away from the "clear all bread every night" process.
The New Rules:
Stop Nightly Outbounding: Do not empty the bread shelves at the end of the shift. Only outbound items that have actually reached BBD -1 day.
Strict FIFO: "First In, First Out" is now mandatory. Always pull older bread to the front and stock new arrivals at the back.
Precision Checks: During your BBD checks, verify every date. We want to sell as much fresh bread as possible before moving it to Rescue Bags.
Why? This reduces waste and ensures customers have a full bakery selection available at all times.
💡 Reminder: When building Bread Rescue Bags, use Builder V2 to ensure the right variety and value!
👉 Shelf Changes: Update
The shelf change output file now includes a Comment column. For any mutated SKUs, this column will provide:
The original SKU reference.
The go-live date for the mutated SKU.
A notification if the SKU is being moved to a different shelf than its predecessor.
Please refer to the image below for an example of how this information will appear.
Ticket Processing Update
Shelf changes are implemented only once per week. Typically, we review incoming tickets on Monday and Tuesday. Therefore, if you submit a ticket on Wednesday and do not see an update by Friday, please note that it is not due to an oversight. The ticket is simply queued for the next processing cycle, as shelf changes and facings adjustments can only be executed once a week.
Exceptions are made only in cases of critical or urgent issues.
Shelf Changes
The shelf changes will be posted at 15:00 today and will go live tonight. Please move products to their new locations after closure or tomorrow morning. Don't forget the back stock!
If you do not find your hub's file in the folders, it means there are no shelf changes for you this week.
