🚨 Urgent Safety Update: Rescue Bag Compliance

Only include items within their Best Before Date (BBD) in our Rescue Bags. Double-checking dates ensures customer safety and maintains the high standards we’re known for.

Please follow the mandatory process below for all Rescue Bag stock:

🛑 The Zero-Tolerance Rule

  • Never include a product that has passed its BBD.

  • The one time this is allowed is for bakery rescue bags that can have fresh bread 1 day past BBD.

🔄 Process for Unsold Bags

If a Rescue Bag does not sell on the day it is made, you must follow these three steps at the end of the day:

  1. Inventory Correction: Remove all unsold bags from the system via a Stock Correction.

  2. Inspection: Check the contents of the unsold bags. Items may only be reused for the next day if they are still within their BBD and show no signs of mould or damage.

  3. Disposal: Immediately dispose of all expired products, moulded items, and empty packaging.

Compliance is non-negotiable. Protecting our customers is our priority.

🍚 New Year Surprise: Customer Recipe Booklets

We’re kicking off the year by gifting all new customers a special recipe booklet! These will be arriving at hubs starting this week (Jan 7th/8th).

We need your help to ensure every new customer gets their copy. Please follow these steps as soon as they arrive:

  • Step 1: Inbound - Use SKU: 132952388

  • Step 2: Staging - Assign to shelf number D700X

  • Step 3: Fulfilment - Add one booklet to every new customer order when the prompt shows.

Need Support? Open communication is key to a smooth rollout. If the booklets don't arrive or you run into any issues, please reach out immediately to Joppe Beurskens or Daniela Farias via slack.

🏆 Quarterly Challenge Update: Holiday Heroes & Winter Vibes

The competition is heating up, even as the temperature drops! As we push through the winter months, the Quarterly Challenge continues to showcase the incredible dedication of our hub teams across the country.

🌟 Shout-out of the Week: The Holiday All-Stars

A massive round of applause goes to four hubs that didn't let the holiday rush slow them down. These teams managed to score a perfect 9 points during the busy break:

  • NL_ALO_CENT

  • NL_DEV_CENT

  • NL_AMS_CENT

  • NL_KAT_OOST

These hubs mastered the "Golden Trio" of operations: keeping restocking on point, maintaining low picking times, and keeping schedule deviations to an absolute minimum. Incredible work, teams!

⚖️ Fair Play: Speed the Right Way

We’ve noticed a few instances of teams using the "Barcode problem / Report EAN" button to boost picking speeds artificially.

Let’s keep it 100: Points will be deducted for this practice. Speed is a result of a well-organised hub, not a shortcut. Remember the golden rule: Restocking first = speed follows. When the shelves are right, the picking speed happens naturally. Let's keep the leaderboard honest!

❄️ New Bonus Challenge: Flink in the Snow

We want to see how you’re braving the elements! We are officially launching the "Flink in the Snow" photo challenge.

How to enter:

  1. Snap a photo of your team or riders delivering in the winter conditions.

  2. Please post it in the @nl-hubs Quarterly Challenge Update Slack thread.

  3. Show the rest of the network what "going the extra mile" looks like!

Here are some amazing submissions so far:

  • Sinterklaas Colouring Sheets

  • "Win a Year of Groceries" Flyers

2. Storage (Save for Next Year)

Festive Rescue Bag Stickers: Do not throw these away. Please place them in a safe location for reuse next season.

Key updates you can't miss

⚙️ Hub Portal Updates: January 2026 - Live Today!

We are excited to share three new improvements to the Hub Portal designed to streamline your operations and provide better visibility into your daily tasks.

1. Enhanced Order Filtering

Based on feedback from several hubs, we have improved the filtering options in the Orders Tab. You can now filter by Order Status and Order Type to get a more precise overview of your current workload.

2. Smarter Rider Widget Sorting

The Rider Widget now automatically prioritises riders who require the most immediate attention. Riders are now sorted in the following priority sequence:

  1. TEMP OFFLINE: Specifically, those with NO VEHICLE ASSIGNED.

  2. IDLE / DECLINING: Riders who are currently inactive or declining tasks.

  3. Regular Riding states: Standard active delivery statuses.

  4. Other TEMP OFFLINE: All other temporary offline reasons are moved to the bottom of the list.

3. Improved Order Stack Logic

To make managing multiple deliveries easier, orders within a stack are now sorted in their actual sequence. This ensures that the information you see in the portal matches the physical flow of the delivery route.

❄️ New Winter Rider Safety Training - Live Today!

As the weather shifts, we are doubling down on rider safety. This week, we are releasing two new Winter Handling & Maintenance training modules specifically for our E-bike and E-scooter riders.

Why this matters for your Hub:

  • Reducing Accidents: In slippery weather, stopping distances can double, making smooth movements and extra reaction time critical for avoiding collisions.

  • Navigating High-Risk Areas: These modules teach riders to identify dangerous surfaces, such as black ice and tram tracks, before they cause a loss of control.

  • Protecting the Fleet: Winter moisture and road salt can quickly corrode metal components, so we are teaching riders the importance of regular vehicle care.

  • Preventing Failures: By encouraging riders to report issues such as brake problems or battery concerns immediately, we can prevent minor faults from becoming dangerous failures on the road.

How you can help: Please encourage riders to check the "Training" section of their Workforce App. If you see a rider struggling with the conditions or if the weather takes a turn for the worse, a quick reminder about these modules can go a long way.

Don't forget that waterproof trousers and shoe covers should be available at the hub for those who need them, and they can be ordered via Coupa.

More guides will be released throughout the coming months. Keep your eyes peeled!

Shelf Changes & De-listings

Delistings:

Week 02 here

Shelf changes:

The shelf changes will be posted at 15:00 today and will go live tonight. Please move products to their new locations after closure or tomorrow morning. Don't forget the back stock!

In the shelf change output file, you will now find two additional columns: one showing the number of facings for the product being moved to the new shelf, and another indicating whether the product is stored as an HU. If the cell is blank, it means the product should be stored as an SU.

If you do not find your hub's file in the folders, it means there are no shelf changes for you this week.
