Get Ready for Safetember! A Month Dedicated to Your Safety

Get ready! This September is Safetember, a full month focused on safety for our riders, hubs, and customers.

Starting in the first week of September (Week 36) and running for four weeks, we will dive deep into a different safety theme each week. The goal is simple: to work together for safer rides, fewer accidents, and to build stronger safety habits.

Keep an eye out for a new poster on its way to your hub this week!

Welcome to the first week of Safetember! This week’s theme is "Gear Up". Success is no accident, and it all starts with making sure your equipment is ready and safe for every single shift.

Your E-Bike: Pre-Ride Daily Check

Screenshot 2025-09-02 at 12.30.49.png

Before you head out, take 60 seconds to check your e-bike. If you find something isn't right, report it to your hub leadership immediately.

  • Tires: Must be firm and without damage on both the front and back.

  • Brakes: Check that both front and back brakes are firm and responsive.

  • Lights: Ensure both front and back lights turn on and are bright.

  • Back-box/Saddlebags: Confirm they are attached and secure.

  • Saddle: It should be secure and properly adjusted.

  • Pedals: Both pedals must be stable and move freely.

  • Chain: The chain should move smoothly.

  • Mud Guards: Check that front and back guards are not touching the tires.

Let's start Safetember strong. Gear up and ride safe!

Safetemper - Training Onboarding Completion

As we gear up for Safetember and continue striving for excellence across all our hubs, there's one foundational element that empowers every single one of us to succeed: comprehensive onboarding training.

This isn't just about ticking boxes; it's about building a stronger, safer, and more efficient team from the ground up. Whether you're a recent hire or a seasoned manager, understanding the critical importance of everyone completing their initial training is key to our collective success.

Let's look at our current progress:

  • Completion Goal: 90%

  • Netherlands (NL) Completion: 54% (We have a significant journey ahead to reach our 90% goal here.)

  • Germany (DE) Completion: 90% (Already on target and looking for that 100%!)

Why is 100% Onboarding Completion Vital for Everyone?

  • Ensures Health & Safety: Equips all staff with crucial safety knowledge, reducing risks and preparing us for Safetember.

  • Boosts Process Understanding: Enables quicker grasp of systems and procedures, leading to greater efficiency and fewer errors.

  • Accelerates Performance: Helps staff achieve better results faster, contributing to individual and company success from day one.

  • Reduces Staff Turnover: Creates a positive, informed start, increasing job satisfaction and retaining our valuable talent.

To help everyone reach that 100% completion mark, remember:

  • Track Your Progress: Hub managers can utilize the Looker dashboard to monitor completion rates of onboarding courses & the safety refresher and use it to provide targeted support.

  • Within the dashboard overview you can filter for completion by hub and position

  • On the employee level you can search for your hub staff to see who to follow up with

  • Access it here 👉🏽 Looker dashboard

  • Visual Guides: We have posters available that outline exactly how the Onboarding should look like:

    • OA onboarding poster: here

    • Rider onboarding poster: here

  • Accessibility: All training courses are readily available in the Workforce App Training section.

Let's work together to ensure everyone benefits from comprehensive onboarding. Our collective safety, efficiency, and success depend on it!

Reminder Cooling Sleeves

A reminder that you can find the content related to the new cooling sleeves on hub wiki & an Edume guide in the WF App.

The whole purpose of the sleeves is that we keep them on after delivery, so the quality of our products stays better until inbound. So please do not remove them immediately & return with the driver, then we miss the whole purpose of the sleeves.

Key updates you can't miss____________________________________

Important Update: Mandatory GPS for Riders - Rolling Out Next Wednesday!

Get ready for an important update to your WF App! Starting next Wednesday, GPS and Location Services will need to be enabled on your device to use the app. This change is being implemented to enhance customer experience by providing real-time delivery information and to improve the accuracy of your delivery metrics.

What Your Riders Need to Do:

If they see a prompt about missing permissions, simply click 'Enable'. They will then be directed to device settings to turn on Location Services for the WF App. Once all necessary permissions are enabled, they are good to go!

Key Things to Note:

  • When is your location tracked? Your location is only tracked while you are on a shift.

  • Signal Impact? GPS or internet signal won't affect the app's usage; just the initial setting needs to be enabled.

  • Battery Life? We've worked hard to improve the app's battery usage, so this update should not significantly impact your phone's battery.

This update will be tested this week and rolled out to all hubs next Wednesday. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to improve our services!

Heinieken x STELZ Store on JET

We’re excited to share that a new concept is now live in the Netherlands: virtual JET stores. After a successful run in Germany, we’re now rolling it out here via Thuisbezorgd/JET, starting with Heineken x STËLZ Express.

What does this mean?

  • Customers will see a different store name on the JET platform: Heineken x STËLZ Express.

  • The order fulfilment and delivery will be done by Flink, just as for our Flink JET Store.

  • The assortment is not new; it’s a curated selection of products we already carry at Flink.

  • For hubs, nothing changes: picking and delivery work exactly the same as any other JET order.

  • The launch is already showing positive results, and if the trend continues, more virtual stores will follow soon. We’ll make sure to keep you updated along the way!

_________________________________________________________________The list will be published at 16:00, so please check around that time.

The changes will go live tonight between 01:00 and 07:00, so please move the products to their new locations tonight after closure/tomorrow morning.

🤓Don’t forget the back stock! When moving products to their new shelf, always remember to check and reposition any backstock on the top shelves as well!

Read more about the different Hub Sizes here!

Why do we do shelf changes?

Shelf changes are primarily made to optimize product placement, such as moving items from an S to an XS shelf. This allows the shelves to be listed in more hubs than they currently are, expanding the assortment’s size across all hubs rather than concentrating it in only the larger L or XL hubs.

For example, by consolidating products on an S shelf, we can free up space on a relatively empty M shelf and streamline product placement from top to bottom.

This process will continue in the near future as we work to broaden our assortment. Expanding our assortment ultimately increases the potential basket size for customers.

If you notice products that don’t fit the shelves when following the facings, flag them via the “Facings feedback” option in Hub Alert.
