The 3 Phases of Inbound
Prerequisite: Before starting, make sure you have followed the Receiving Process guide.
Phase 1: Preparation
Assess the inbound priority. Always inbound products in this order:
1. Frozen → 2. Fresh (Dairy) → 3. Fruits & Vegetables → 4. Dry Products → 5. Drinks.Take the highest priority rollcontainer to the inbound area.
Arrange your workspace: Place the rollcontainer, your inbound cart, and an empty waste rollcontainer in front of you for easy access.
If you find products that are damaged or perished, you should use the feature 'Image for outbound during inbound'
Swipe left and press 'Outbound'
Choose either BBD or product/batch code and input
Upload a photo of the damage + image of the BBD date or products /batch code, depending on the issue you are reporting
Press submit and carry on depending on the quality of the product, either use for rescue bags or throw away.
Phase 2: Creating the Dropping List (in HubOne)
Open the HubOne app on your Zebra and tap Inbound.
Tap Create a new list, then Select Delivery.
Scan the SSCC sticker on the rollcontainer to identify the delivery.
Take the first product (handling unit) from the rollcontainer and scan its barcode.
Count the total number of handling units for that product and verify the amount shown in the app under "Items expected".
Once the amount is verified, tap the green checkmark next to the quantity to confirm.
Remove the outer packaging, throw it in the waste container, and place the handling unit on your inbound cart.
Repeat for all products on the rollcontainer until your inbound cart is full.
Once the cart is full, tap Save list.
Remember: Once saved, a list cannot be edited!
Phase 3: Dropping Products to Shelves
Go to the "Shared Lists" view in the app and tap on the list you just created to claim it. Note: Multiple people can claim and work on the same list simultaneously.
Take your inbound cart to the first shelf number shown on the list.
Place the product on its correct shelf location.
In the app, tap the hand icon on the product's card to confirm it has been dropped. The product is now live for customers.
Repeat this process for all products on your cart.
Once your cart is empty and all items are dropped, tap Finish dropping.
Return to the inbound zone and repeat the process until all rollcontainers are empty.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I adjust incorrect quantities?
If the amount of units you counted does not match what's in the app:
Tap on the number you need to change (either under "Total" for single units or "Handling units").
Enter the correct amount and tap confirm.
A warning may appear if the new amount doesn't match the expected amount. No further action is needed.
What if a barcode doesn't scan or is missing?
Handling unit barcode fails: Try scanning the barcode of a single unit inside the package instead.
Neither barcode works: Use the search bar in the app to find the product by name, select it, and tap "Add to the list."
Report the issue: If an EAN is missing from the system, create a ticket in Hub Alert Product issues Missing SKU so it can be fixed.
What if a product is damaged or expired?
First, inbound 100% of the products as delivered, even the damaged ones.
After inbounding, go to HubOne app Inventory Stock corrections.
Scan the shelf, select the product, and outbound the correct quantity with the reason "Damaged" or "Expired".
Create a ticket in Hub Alert Delivery issues Delivered product issue.
What do I do with other app error messages?
"Barcode error" on SSCC sticker: Try scanning again or enter the ID manually. If it still fails, select "Continue anyway" and proceed. This is a known issue; do not report it.
"EAN not found": Follow the steps for a missing barcode above and report it in Hub Alert.
"We are not able to inbound this product": This means there is a master data issue or you received a product not meant for Flink. Follow the message instructions and create a Hub Alert ticket.
Difference between a handling unit and a single unit
The handling unit is the outer package containing multiple products (e.g., a case). The single unit is one individual product inside that package.
