Equipment Updates
____________________________________
š”Rider summer gear available - Thu 18 Apr
From Thursday 18 April onward, eligible Riders (completed 3 shifts) can order their summer gear in the Workforce App. Additionally, they are required to consent to the updated terms and conditions when acquiring the gear.
The Rider gear is shipped to the hubs within 5 -10 working days.
š”Rider gear deposit - live Thu 18 Apr
Riders must return their gear to the hub on their last shift. If not returned, a deposit of ā¬50 will be taken off their last salary slip.
To be compliant with this process, the HM / SL must mark the gear āReturnedā in the Hub Portal > Equipment. Read how the process works below.
Process to return the gear
On the Hub Portal, go to Equipment.
On the upper right corner, the 5 tabs show the steps a Rider needs to take to get their gear or to return it.
Make sure to move the Rider through the funnel and:
Push the Riders who are eligible to order the gear via the Workforce app.
Check if the gear arrived for the ones who ordered it already.
Mark the Riders as Assigned in the fleet tool after handing out the gear.
Ask the Riders who have received the gear to claim it in the Workforce app.
Mark the riders as Returned when they return the gear before they leave the company. Only this triggers the return of the deposit.
If all Riders are at the correct step of the funnel, you are done with the task.
Payroll process
Payroll processes the final payment within 4 weeks, so they have a maximum of 1 week to hand in the gear after their last shift.
If the Riders have any questions about the deduction of the deposit, refer them to Rider Care.

šØ Change in the storage process of bananas
Context
Bananas are vulnerable items to us and their quality and suppliers are highly dependent on the stacking conditions.
The current stacking conditions (in the plastic bag inside the cardboard boxes) limit their breathability, leading to higher humidity and faster deterioration. This leads to an actual shelf life lower than 5 days.
Thus, switching from boxes to crates (ideally CBL23, but also the Green Crates are ok) ensures stacking and storage quality mainly due to an increased air flow and reduced humidity. This extends the shelf life as long as possible.
Next steps
In the next weeks, every hub will receive up to 5 CBL23, which will be kept in-house and used as storage containers for bananas (the amount received will depend on the current stock you currently have - see it here).
Crates will be stacked in the same exact position you currently stack the boxes in (ideally, at the end of the shelves).
Please do not return any CBL 23 (the biggest size) to Lekkerland. If you have more than needed, write it down here.
TIP: label the crates to make sure everyone in the team is aware they are banana containers. Once stacked on top of each other, remember to rotate them in order to maintain the First In First Out principle.

šØNew BHV training dates available
Find the new dates in the BHV Master sheet.
Important to note
First time BHV trainees need to do an e-learning course and a face-to-face training.
Repeat trainees need to redo the physical training (no e-learning) after 1 year, because their BHV certificate is only valid for 1 year.
We are lawfully required to have 1 first aider on site during operational hours. Therefore, all Hub Managers, Shift Leads and Ops+ must have a valid training certificate.
All first-aid certificates should be placed at the back of your BHV plan or printed out and displayed against the wall at the Shift Leadās desk.
